Acadian Arts Asian Fusion Cooking Chris Toy 

Chris Toy is the author of 6 popular cookbooks, a private chef, and has taught Asian-fusion cooking for several Maine community education programs. Learn how to prepare a variety of recipes from Asia, Europe, and the Americas incorporating traditional and local ingredients. The CPR class includes adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, adult, child and infant choking, and how and when to call emergency services.  The course cost includes use of manikins, video, certified instructor, practical components and a certificate of completion.  Video portion has been shortened and the practical time has been increased to ensure enough time to gain skill confidence.  This class is taught to the standards established by the American Heart Association.  Workbook not included but can be purchased for $10 at the time of class.

Hands-on instruction from a pro - Chris Toy will be in the house providing expert hands on instruction and lots of fun! Learn how to season, care for, and use a Chinese wok and cleaver. You'll take home a specially selected kit with a seasoned wok appropriate for all heating sources, long handled wok spatula, sharpened professional restaurant grade cleaver, honing steel, edge guard, large cutting board , and one of Chris' popular cookbooks. (kit valued at over $200). Of course, to learn all these steps, there must be food involved! Bring a container for left-overs!

Watercolor is a great medium for creating artwork from life. Inthis course we will create watercolor drawings of still life objects.Topics discussed will include colors and how to mix them, brushes, basic techniques including wash and dry brush, process, and art supplies. A suggested supply list will be provided.  4 weeks, Registration:  $85

Maine Driving Dynamics course offers all drivers the opportunity to prove their defensive driving abilities. This five-hour course will include a discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. Students completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record. A certified Maine Driving Dynamics instructor teaches this course. Registration:  $75  April 29th & May1st - 6-8:30pm.
