The class that started the dance-fitness revolution and changed the way we look at a “workout” forever. It’s fun, effective and best of all? Made for everyone! It is a dance fitness cardio class with roots in latin rhythms. Wear sneakers and comfortable clothes, bring water and a towel. Erin has been teaching Zumba since 2014, with hundreds of students across Maine and beyond! Garden we must! If you're going to garden, the effort should pay off. This 4-week course will cover various styles and methods of gardening, the importance of soil, methods for seed starting/ transplanting, and several ways to extend the growing season. Paul has been a gardener since forever, ans has raised crops on an Old Port rooftop in Portland, helped kitchen garden for a restaurant in Blue Hill, and will never attempt a 1/4 acre garden by hand on his own again.  Registration:  $50

Arnis (Escrima or Kali)

Arnis, also called Escrima or Kali, is a martial art and national sport of the Phillipines. The style is particularly well known for its stick, sword, and knife training methods. This 4-class workshop will explore the basics of the art. Wear comfortable shoes and workout clothes, no experience necessary. Expect a light to moderate workout and loads of fun!  Registration: $50

Successful Scholarship Searches & Applications

Scholarships can go a long way in helping students cover college costs but being successful in the scholarship application process can take some work. In this session, you’ll learn to build and work on your scholarship application plan. You’ll also learn about and try out different scholarship websites, how to best use a scholarship information tracker, and how to avoid some of the challenges of the scholarship process. Students and parents interested in learning about the scholarship process can join Jessica Whittier, College Access Counselor with the Finance Authority of Maine for this 1-hour workshop as we talk scholarships.
